A Little Something to Think About

 ঈশ্বর, ভগবান ও ধর্ম

 এতকিছুর মধ্যে কিভাবে যে ধর্মটা জুড়ে গেল, কে যে জুড়ে দিল, সম্পূর্ণ অসত্য, পুরোটাই মিথ্যায় ভরা এক রীতিনীতি। আচরণ বা খাদ্যাভ্যাসের পার্থক্য অবশ্যই আছে কিন্তু ধর্ম বলতে কিছু হওয়া সম্ভবই নয়। 

 How did religion get mixed into all this? Who decided to put it there?  To me, it is entirely untrue—a system of rituals and practices filled with falsehood. There are certainly differences in customs, behaviour and food habits, but religion itself cannot truly be something that exists as a separate reality. 

 মৃত্যু

 এটা কিছুতেই বিশ্বাস করা যায় না যে মৃত্যু আটকানো যেতে পারে কিন্তু এটাও সম্ভব। আমি হয়ত পারব না কিন্তু মনে করলে কেউ একজন করে দেখাতেই পারে।

 It is hard to believe that death could ever be stopped. Yet perhaps it is possible. I may not be able to do it, but if someone truly believes it can be done, perhaps one day someone will actually prove it possible. 

 জ্যোতিষ

 ঈশ্বর ভগবানকেও না হয় কিছুটা মানা যায় কারণ ওখানেও ভগবানের অযুক্তিকর অস্তিত্বের কিছু বৈজ্ঞানিক যুক্তি আছে কিন্তু এই জ্যোতিষ মানব কিভাবে? 

God or Bhagavan may perhaps be accepted to some extent, because even the irrational existence of God has been given some scientific arguments. But astrology—how can that be taken seriously?  

 বিবাহ

 একজন আরেকজনকে জীবনের সবটা দিয়ে দেয়, অথচ একজন তেমন আরেকজনকে পাচ্ছে না। 

One gives everything to the other, but none gets the same one.
 

রাজনীতি

 ১০ শতাংশ রাজনীতি করা মানুষ বাকি ৯০ শতাংশ মানুষকে কিভাবে পরিচালিত করছে, আমাদের সমাজ, আমরা কতটা সুস্থ, তার পরিচয় এই রাজনীতি আমাদের দিয়ে দেয়।

How can 10% of people involved in politics control the remaining 90% ? This politics tells us how healthy—or unhealthy—our society really is.

স্বাস্থ্য 

স্বাস্থ্য মানেই শরীর, আর শরীর মানেই অসুখ বিসুখ শরীর খারাপ, কিন্তু স্বাস্থ্য পুরোটাই যে মিশে আছে খাদ্যের সাথে, সেই খবর কেউ দিল না। 

 Health means the body, and the body means illness, sickness and things going wrong.  But no one told us that health is so deeply connected with what we eat.
